Research
journalist and collaborator at several newspapers and
magazines, with published interviews and stories. Worked
from 1965 to 1979 at Diários Associados until
this organization closed down. She has worked as special
reporter, social columnist and feminine editor for “Caderno
Mulher”. She has worked as columnist for "Última
Hora" newspaper under the supervision of Samuel
Weiner and Vogue’s editor, Ignácio de Loyola Brandão.
She has worked on this newspaper writing her own column.
In addition, she has worked as Special Reporter for
“Interview” and “Revista Planeta”.
The
journalist, who has worked for Brazil’s leading
newspapers, remembers that because she’s started very
young she was the only woman to work among more than 80
men. “They considered me as a mascot, they protected and
helped me while I was a beginner.”
Baby Garroux had
several unforgettable colleagues, such as Ignácio de
Loyola Brandão, Jô Soares, Giba Um, Zózimo do Amaral,
Artur da Távola, Jorge Amado and Darcy Ribeiro.
"Some are
still active and some are watching over us from above",
says Baby.
Today she participates in the
Office of Presidency of the A.P.I.
- Associação Paulista de
Imprensa (São Paulo Press Association), and
writes articles for the Soul
Brazil Magazine of Los Angeles.
